Poster child of return fraud on this yard. He bought a tested board, we walked him through the fault on his set, then he opened a return so eBay would make us buy the label.

What the listing already said

Condition notes on the live listing: tested working D40f-G9 main board TP.MT5581.PB761, sound and image confirmed. The donor TV LED strips were burned out. No backlight on that set. Board only. No panel, no LED strips, no PSU.

That is the whole product. A board that boots a logo and then shuts down on a set with dead backlight LEDs is doing what a good Vizio main board does when the strips fault. It is not a misdescribed board.

What he wrote, then what he did

12 August 2026 he paid and wrote “Thank you good sir!” Seven days later he installed it and asked for help. We stayed on the thread. Then he opened the return.

The TV did display the vizio logo then went black after a few minutes, then the light started to blink twice and no more display.

I've disconnected the backlight cable and lower LCD ribbon like the a YouTuber did and I'm still getting the same issue.

That last step is unplugging a live board. It can trip the same protection blink he was trying to “prove.” It does not make the listing a lie.

What we did

  1. Told him the blink-and-black pattern is the board protecting itself from bad LED strips. The logo coming up is the clue the CPU and video path worked.
  2. Admitted a store-video script had overwritten the original test clip. We still had bench-tested it (Roku, sound and image) before it shipped.
  3. Walked him through how to change the LED strips, including a cheap LED tester so he did not have to yank connectors on a live board.
  4. When the return landed as “not as described” for a free label: no. Return on his dime. Send it to the address on the package if he wants it gone.

What eBay did

eBay auto-approved return 5327116598 and mailed us that the buyer had to send the item back. They asked us for a return shipping label by 21 August 2026 and put the payout on hold. Auto-approval is not a finding that the listing was wrong. Our 30-day money-back policy plus their return machine is why that email exists. The RMA switch is on so they do not print a seller-paid label for us.

We are not buying this label. Buyer-remorse and “my TV still has bad LEDs” are his postage.
