Entry 002

eBay user carpartsforsale2013

Bought a $17 tested magnetron, sat on it a month, then opened a “doesn’t work” return with no diagnosis. Refused a $7 keep-it offer. Pasted an expired label three hours before the case would have timed out.

What the listing already said

Condition notes on the live listing: WITOL 2M319J microwave magnetron, OEM, tested working. The part was bench-tested before shipment and the listing photos were of the actual unit.

A used magnetron that is tested and ships as described is not a mystery part. If it arrives damaged in transit, that is a shipping claim. If it does not fix the buyer’s microwave, that is a mismatch between symptom and part, not a defective listing.

What the buyer wrote

One stock SNAD line. No eBay message, no photo, no description of what the microwave did or did not do. The whole case is this:

Doesn’t work

carpartsforsale2013 · return 5327339426 · 21 Aug 2026

The clock

  1. 21 Jul 2026, 00:54 UTC: paid $17 on order 27-14894-72491.
  2. 21 Jul 2026, 01:18 UTC: we shipped the tested magnetron. USPS 9434608106244351503811. Estimated delivery 23-28 Jul.
  3. 21 Aug 2026, 18:43 UTC: return 5327339426 opened as defective / SNAD. eBay auto-approved it the same hour.
  4. 21 Aug 2026, 19:12 UTC: we offered $7 keep-it (more than 40% of the sale). Buyer declined two minutes later and escalated.
  5. 21 Aug 2026: eBay printed seller-paid USPS label 9302211047900002205658. That label expired 31 Aug 2026 unused. The live return row stayed junk self-mail 10285 with status unknown.
  6. 4 Sep 2026, 12:10 PM ET: three hours before the 3:15 PM ET auto-close, the buyer “provided tracking” on case 5385432683. The number they attached is the same expired Aug 21 label. Case flipped to waiting for delivery. Refund still $0.

Printing a label is not dropping a box. An eBay hub tile that says “In Transit” on a dead number is not a USPS acceptance scan. We inspect what actually lands in Carbondale. We do not refund a magnetron that has not come back.

What we did

  1. Shipped the tested magnetron the night of the sale, with tracking.
  2. Offered $7 to keep the part rather than force a $17 used-tube return with no diagnosis.
  3. Reported the dummy tracking and let the case sit. We are not funding a last-minute label trick.

What eBay did

eBay auto-approved return 5327339426 under the listing’s 30-day seller-paid policy. Auto-approval is not a finding that the part was defective. The buyer then escalated. Case 5385432683 sat waiting on the buyer until they pasted that expired number on 4 Sep 2026 and the status became waiting for delivery.

This listing was 30 days, seller pays. We are not claiming they missed a 14-day shop window. The problem is the empty SNAD, the refused keep-it, and the last-minute expired label.

How you stay off this wall

Ask for help. If a tested part does not solve your problem, tell us what the appliance is actually doing and we will troubleshoot. If you changed your mind, pay to send it back. A stock “doesn’t work” with no details, then a label pasted hours before timeout, is not a warranty claim. Honest buyers never see this page.

This page is BuccaneerSalvage’s written record of a public marketplace sale and the eBay return on it. We name the public eBay username. We do not publish street addresses, emails, or legal names. The poster is an invented caricature, not a photograph of the buyer. It is not a court verdict. Dates, IDs, price, and return reason are from listing 398190440426, order 27-14894-72491, return 5327339426, and case 5385432683 (Jul-Sep 2026).
